Today’s creative Thursday was very interesting for me. I have never followed a sketch. However, that was what Marcee and I decided on today. The sketch is from My Favorite Things.
Creative Thursday has really pushed me to do stuff I would not normally do. This is a good thing in the long run 🙂 I am not real sure how I feel about the card I did today but I am going to run with it. I do know I love the colors I used. I think the fun thing for me was when I came up with the idea to use our G Block to do the panel part. I took the G block and just inked it up like I would a stamp and then on a few cards I stamped off then stamped on the card. Other times I just inked up the block and went right to the card without stamping off. Again, really outside my box!
What I do when coming up with an idea is take all the stamps in the set we decide on and put them all on blocks. Then I stamp them all in my sketchbook. This is where an idea is born. Today I just loved the sentiment “just breath”. I decided on the chair because it reminds me to sit and well, just breath. I chose the flowers because I wanted something pretty to look at while I was taking time to relax. I love so many of the colors but the Pineapple Punch really pops some awesome yellow! We were only supposed to make one card. LOL do you have any idea how difficult that is for me??? Very!!! I thought all the different colors for the panel was so pretty. However, when I went to pick a cardbase for it I could not decide. Now you know why there are so many cards 🙂 As I was making the card I was actually relaxing because of the sentiment, chair and flowers. I just kept imagining me sitting there actually relaxing. See, stamping can be relaxing 🙂
Want to know what is inside? There are 6 cards. So the first 6 people to look me up on Facebook and send me a private message with your mailing address will get to see the inside 🙂
I hope you enjoy!
